Woodlands Area Foodies (WAF) began in 2014 as a discussion group dedicated to those in The Woodlands and surrounding areas who love great food.
As of December 2018, WAF has grown to over 18,000 verified members who share their love of food and their memorable experiences.
TRIS, Chef Austin Simmons and his team received eight nominations from the 2018 Woodlands Culinary Awards, presented by the Woodlands Area Foodies and won in the following categories:

- Restaurateur of the Year
