TRIS Ranked # 17th on the 2019 Houston’s Top 100 Restaurant List

TRIS was ranked 17th in Houston Chronicle’s annual list of Houston’s Top 100 Restaurants by Alison Cook.

Alison Cook – a two-time James Beard Award winner for restaurant criticism and an M.F.K. Fisher Distinguished Writing award recipient – has been reviewing restaurants and surveying the dining scene for the Houston Chronicle for 12 years. Alison Cook also named the Korean Butter Poached Crab “10 standout dishes from Alison Cook’s upcoming Top 100 Houston restaurants list” recently.

Consider the devilishly smart kimchi pancake with its rich cargo of lump crab, finished with burnished browned-butter sauce that is tart, winey and fascinating to the last drop. Or a stirring potato soup vibrating with the tang of aged cheddar, its surface afloat with slick rafts of Ibérico ham and toasty breadcrumbs. Rosy backstrap venison with a mushroom tart qualifies as a destination dish, as does a towering devil’s food cake sheathed in glossy dark chocolate.

Only the top 25 restaurants were ranked, and TRIS is the only restaurant ranked from The Woodlands. We are honored to have made this list and attribute it to the hard work and talent of Chef Austin Simmons and his team.
